The Starting Point

Fashion is awesome in general so when I heard I could mix it in with some history I was all for it. So, Egyptian clothing is my topic so the best point to start researching was were the Egyptians started, with the material. They took flax,a plant, to make the material for there clothing.First, they pulled the flax off the stem and sorted them by size. Second they took a large wooden comb to remove any bolls or other extraneous matter. since I am not the most patient person it would be torture because the flax stems would have to soak for 15 days. ugh I am bored just thinking about it. Lastly, after it soaked they hand spun it, dyed it, then wove it into the material they used. If any colors I would dye it black and purple but the Egyptian color for purity was white so that was the color they wore.
